2022 PUMPKIN CLASSIC INFORMATION

The Pumpkin Classic is a Windy City hosted tournament for 5th-8th grade teams from clubs and junior high schools. Teams attend from Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio and Wisconsin.

DATE: Sunday, October 23, 2022

TIME: 7:00am - 6:00pm

LOCATION: New Trier High School Turf Fields at the Northfield Campus, 7 Happ Rd, Northfield, IL 60093

SURFACE: 3 filled turf regulation fields

GAME SCHEDULE: two weeks prior to the event

REGISTRATION FEE: $575.00

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: first come, first serve. Limited to 24 teams. Four pools of 6. Teams will need to be ranked 1 through 4 (1 being the strongest and 4th the weakest pool).

DIVISIONS:

  1. Witch- elite age group
  2. Vampire- advanced age group
  3. Ghost- Intermediate age group
  4. Mummy- beginner or u12 age group

WHO MAY ATTEND: Any field hockey team comprised of 5th to 8th graders, public or private school, park district or club.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT: 24 teams, 4 pools of 6, competing in a 28 minute tournament format (no half time and 2 minutes between games), 11 v 11 matches. Medals will be awarded to the winners in each division. Five 28 minute game guarantee. Tourney Machine hosts the schedule.

ROSTER: Suggested 16-18 per team roster to ensure that all kids play. No more than 20 per team.

AWARDS: Medals will be given to pool winners. Up to 20 medals will be available for each team.

VENDORS: Fine Designs, Grateful Bites Pizza Oven

ATHLETIC TRAINER: A certified athletic trainer will cover the event.

SPECTATORS: All spectators are welcome, there will be no admission charged.

INJURIES AND INSURANCE: All players should have evidence of medical insurance in their possession or with parent or coach. In the event of serious injury, players will be taken to a local hospital by EMT. We recommend that a brief written history of each player's medical condition accompany the team with the coach. In the event of injury and unconsciousness this will assist the trainer or other medical personnel in expediting treatment.
